2. Seminars for Gender Equality

The goal of this seminar is to cultivate a workstyle that would hopefully spread through the entire university enabling women researchers to have careers that balance well with their personal lives. To achieve this, it is important for everyone to understand the difficulties during certain periods of pregnancy, childrearing, and caring for family who may be elderly or sick. Pioneers in this area within and outside of Sophia will be invited to speak to all of our students and staff in an attempt to promote further gender equality.

3. Supporting Colloquium for Female Students

Women working as researchers in various organizations will be invited to attend and discuss their experiences and the situations in the places where they work. The goal will be to increase the number of undergraduates and graduates seeking to become researchers, as well as to give them concrete images of the sorts of careers they can aspire to.

We are welcoming 2 female scientists from UK and Spain to present their research outcome. Please feel free to join the intriguing discussion by researchers from Japan and Europe.
